The sun was shining as music and the aroma of traditional Hispanic street cuisine filled the air on Saturday, Oct. 17, while community members gathered in downtown New Braunfels for the 10th annual Dia de los Muertos festival.
While Dia de los Muertos is widely recognized on Nov. 2, some begin honoring their lost loved ones as early as Oct. 27.
It is believed that on the first day, the 27th, pets make their return, according to the Love Baxter website.
