TYLER, Texas (KLTV) - Hundreds of community members gathered at Bergfeld Park in Tyler for White Cane Day to raise awareness about visual impairment and celebrate independence within the blind community.

The event, sponsored by East Texas Lighthouse, brought together an estimated 300 to 400 attendees, along with local food and support vendors.

Participants took part in a quarter-mile walk around the park to demonstrate self-reliance and community visibility.
