SHERMAN, Texas (KXII) - Halloween ranks No. 2 in commercial spending holidays for consumers in the U.S., and a portion of that spending goes toward candy.

According to the National Retail Federation, candy costs are 8% higher year over year.

Candy prices are up more than 70% since 2021."It's a lot due to chocolate prices. Cocoa manufacturing and supply-chain issues have caused cocoa prices to increase by fifty percent over the last decade," financial strategist Bill Dendy said.
