A Houston man is dead following a kitchen fire Friday morning at an apartment on Cattails Lane.

Houston Fire Department crews responded to 6313 Cattails Lane at 11:43 p.m. Friday after a neighbor reported smelling smoke coming from the adjacent apartment.

"First due company had light smoke," HFD Captain Lewis said.
