The Friends of the New Braunfels Public Library, or FOL, is a 501(c)(3)) nonprofit organization that is behind much of what the library does.

FOL helps the New Braunfels Public Library by supplementing the library with extra funds, which are used to fund database subscriptions, early literacy programs, teen programming, children's programming and special events, outreach programs, adult programming and other library services that might otherwise not be funded.

"The purpose of the Friends of the Library is to support the work of the library and to do things such as providing funds for many of the activities that are done through the library," FOL volunteer Fred Willard said.
