HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Drivers across the Houston area should prepare for several road closures this weekend, including an overnight I-10 shutdown tied to CenterPoint Energy work and ongoing construction in Galveston County.

TxDOT will close all eastbound and westbound lanes of I-10 from Cedar Lane to Bayou Drive beginning at 7 p.m. Saturday, July 18, through 6 a.m. Sunday, July 19. The closure will allow crews to complete construction work, with detour signs posted throughout the area.

Eastbound traffic will detour by exiting at Magnolia Avenue, continuing on the frontage road, turning right on River Road, left on Market Street, and immediately turning right onto the I-10 frontage road.
