The Canton police officer injured in a fatal shooting on Tuesday night is in stable condition, the police department said.

He is being flown to Plano for surgery on his right arm, where he sustained a gunshot wound.

VAN ZANDT COUNTY, Texas (KETK) - An East Texas deputy was fatally wounded and a Canton police officer was injured during a warrant service Tuesday night after shots were fired from inside a residence toward law enforcement, according to the Van Zandt County Sheriff's Office.
