CANDELARIA, Texas (KOSA) - A family became stranded in deep mud near Candelaria and was rescued by Presidio County sheriff's deputies and federal partners, the Presidio County Sheriff's Office said.

According to a Facebook post, The sheriff's office received a distress call through the 911 system from the family, who had been exploring the river area.

They became stranded in muddy terrain about 5 miles west of Candelaria on Chispa Road, beyond the pavement.
