Investigators in Ellis County are working to identify skeletal remains discovered near Italy, Texas, with speculation about a possible connection to a missing Waxahachie man.

Authorities in Ellis County are seeking to identify skeletal remains found earlier this week and are acknowledging speculation about a possible connection to a missing man from Waxahachie.

The remains were discovered at 2:49 p.m. Monday near Bell Branch Road and FM 876 in Italy, according to the Ellis County Sheriff's Office.
