KILGORE, Texas (KLTV) - The Kilgore Public Library has been awarded a $10,000 literacy grant from the Pizza Hut Foundation in recognition of the institution's commitment to promoting literacy in the area.

The grant supports the nonprofit organization's goal to expand its Pizza Hut Book It! reading program through literacy-focused initiatives, according to a press release."We're honored to receive this generous grant from the Pizza Hut Foundation," said Library Director Stacey Cole.

"This support will allow us to reach even more members of our community and help expand our library's accessibility initiative. We're grateful for the partnership and excited about what's ahead."Friends of the Kilgore Public Library used the grant funds to purchase a Nook Pad, and the library has scheduled an unveiling at noon Wednesday.
