A federal jury ruled in favor of a UT Arlington engineering professor who accused the university of discrimination and retaliation for filing an internal complaint.

A federal jury has found in favor of a former engineering professor at The University of Texas at Arlington (UTA) who claimed she faced discrimination and retaliatory firing after she complained about her treatment through the university's internal system.

The Texas Conference of the American Association of University Professors (AAUP) shared in a news release on Wednesday that the jury sided with Haiying Huang on Friday, August 14, 2026.
