(KGNS) - Texas A&M International University (TAMIU) will host its annual Folklorico Festival Saturday, Oct. 3, featuring seven community Folklorico groups.

Nayeli Lopez, instructor of Folklorico dance at TAMIU, said the groups performing represent a range of ages, including teenagers, adults and older adults."So we have the Folklorico Festival this Saturday where we have seven community Folklorico groups performing," Lopez said.

"So various ages, teenagers, adults and older adults. They're going to be performing the traditional Folklorico dances, Mexican folk dances for the community."Lopez said the festival gives community groups the chance to perform on a theater stage and share their passion for Mexican dance.
