The Barbecue Inn's closing date is almost upon Houston, but the feeling of it still lands the same when you pull up to 116 W. Crosstimbers Street: another Houston institution preparing to turn out the lights.
After 80 years in business, the restaurant's final day of operations is Saturday, Aug. 1, co-owner David Skrehot confirmed.
The reasons, he said, are practical and personal - rising costs, yes, but mostly a family decision for his father.
