Child dies after Midland County deputies respond to welfare call; man arrested

A child died after Midland County Sheriff's deputies responded to a welfare call for an unresponsive child early Friday morning, and a man was arrested in connection with the incident.

MIDLAND COUNTY, Texas (KOSA) - A child died Friday after deputies with the Midland County Sheriff's Office responded to the area of NCR 1135 for an unresponsive child.

According to the Midland County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded at around 4:30 a.m. and tried to save the child when they arrived.

The child was taken to Midland Memorial Hospital, where the child died.
