Kerrville Rotarians had the opportunity to see firsthand how a Rotary-funded project is being put to work right here in Kerr County during last week's regular club meeting.

Capt. Scott Gaige, who leads the training unit at the Kerr County Sheriff's Office, and Capt. Jason Waldrip, who leads the Special Operations Division at the sheriff's department, updated Rotary members on the new Guardian drone that is now a part of the department's first responder force.

Donations from Rotarians around the world through Rotary District 5840 funded the purchase of the drone after the July 4, 2025, flood in which 119 people lost their lives in Kerr County.
