For the first time since the 2022 season, the Boerne High football team won their season opener after the Greyhounds defeated Westwood Friday night at the Kelly Reeves Athletic Complex, 34-14.

The Hounds start the year at 1-0 and are home Friday to host Laredo United, 7 p.m. Prior to Friday, Boerne's last opening-day win came during the 2022 season.

They lost at Flour Bluff in 2023 and then dropped their opening games to Pieper during the 2024 and 2025 seasons.
