COMFORT, Texas - For the first time in recent memory, Center Point put together a pair of varsity cross-country teams when the Pirates and Lady Pirates traveled to Comfort to race in Wednesday's Oktoberfest Invitational.

Pirates Ben Beadle was the Pirates' best finisher, timed at 19:12 for 5K, which was good enough for 31st place out of 127 racers.

The Pirates beat out San Antonio Memorial and Nueces Canyon to come in 16th in the 18-team full-team field.
