Greek mythology and modern-day America might not seem like two things that naturally belong together, but Howard Payne University's production of The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical finds a way to make the combination work.

Based on Rick Riordan's bestselling novel, the musical follows Percy Jackson, a teenager who discovers he is the half-blood son of Poseidon and is suddenly thrown into a world where the Greek gods, monsters and mythology he thought were nothing more than stories are very real.

When Zeus' lightning bolt is stolen and Percy becomes the prime suspect, he and his friends must set out on a quest to find it and prevent a war among the gods.
