LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) - A Lubbock ISD teacher is among 21 educators appointed across the state to the newly formed Texas Classroom Commission.

Laura Fanning, a fifth-grade teacher at Roscoe Wilson Elementary School, was named to the commission Wednesday.

Governor Greg Abbott said the appointees will help shape the future of public education, strengthen student achievement and ensure Texas becomes the number one state for educating children.
