The appointment of Gary Hurtado as the City of Brownwood's Planning and Development Director was approved by City Council during Tuesday morning's meeting.

Hurtado brings more than 35 years of municipal experience in public service, infrastructure planning, and development services.

He joined the City of Brownwood in 2018 as an Engineering Technician II and has since advanced through several positions of increasing responsibility, including Engineering Technician III, GIS Coordinator, Engineering Services Coordinator, Assistant Director of Planning and Development, Capital Improvement Project Manager, and Interim Director of Planning and Development Services.
