The Greater Boerne Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon-cutting Wednesday for the Kendall County Women's Shelter, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting survivors of domestic abuse and their families as they work toward safety, healing, and independence.

Based in Boerne, KCWS provides comprehensive, confidential services including emergency shelter, crisis intervention, safety planning, counseling, case management, legal advocacy, support groups, and resources for survivors and their children.

KCWS also provides shelter and support for survivors' pets and works to raise awareness about domestic abuse through community education and outreach.
