Texas voters made history in the Nov. 3 election, delivering major victories to Democrats in several closely watched statewide and congressional races.

James Talarico defeated Republican Ken Paxton to become the first Democrat elected to the U.S. Senate from Texas in nearly four decades, while Gina Hinojosa will become the state's first Latina governor.

Democrats also flipped congressional seats in South and West Texas, while several key Bexar County races ushered in new leadership.
