(KGNS) - United Independent School District's Communities in Schools (CIS) program will not be eliminated, but it will be scaled back to fewer campuses, trustees decided at a board meeting Tuesday, Aug. 12.

The board had previously considered ending the CIS program altogether before reversing course and moving toward keeping it in a more limited form as the district works through its financial crisis.
