With the naming of a new head coach, a new district and two returning seniors, preparations for the 2026-27 basketball year are underway for the Taylor High School Lady Ducks.

The Lady Ducks named Jay Reed as the head coach in June, though he is no stranger to Taylor athletics.

Reed was the assistant coach for the Lady Duck basketball program for eight years and served as the head golf coach for one year, before departing from the programs in 2024 to serve as the head girls basketball coach in Gary, TX. "I'm excited to be back but I'm just really focused on trying to figure out how we can be the best version of us," said Reed.
