A father is fighting for his life, and a mother is recovering in the hospital after throwing her two young daughters from a third-story window to escape a raging house fire in northwest Houston early Thursday morning.

In a remarkable rescue, neighbors rushed to help and caught the girls as they fell from the burning townhome.
