Apple is releasing a new smart home display, its answer to other popular smart displays and speakers, such as Amazon's Echo Show and Google's Nest Hub.

Apple HomeView, which the company announced on Tuesday, is a smart home device that features a recycled aluminum screen with a 7-inch Liquid Retina display, on a domed speaker base.

HomeView can be used as a tabletop device or mounted to a wall and will be available in four colors -- rose pink, silver, space gray and starlight.
