SHERMAN, Texas (KXII) - Sherman ISD is preparing to open its new Tommy Hudspeth Athletic Complex, with the Bearcats' home opener set for September 18.

Alan McDougal, Sherman ISD athletic director, said the new stadium is not meant to replace Bearcat Stadium."The Bearcat Stadium is going to be kind of impossible to replace and we're not trying to replace it. It's just a different place for us to call home. And that's why we've kept it there on 75, but we're going to start new traditions here," McDougal said.

The September 18 home opener will serve both fine arts and athletics programs.
