East Texas Symphony receives $150,000 grant ahead of Symphony in the ParkSixth annual event kicks off Labor Day weekendTYLER, Texas - The East Texas Symphony Orchestra will kick off Labor Day weekend with its sixth annual Symphony in the Park.
The symphony also received a $150,000 grant from the Health Foundation of East Texas as part of the Building Belonging cohort.
Grant aims to connect youthThe mission aims to connect the youth of Smith County beyond the use of screens."Once students go through that program, they have a place to belong. They have a place where they're needed. It's a good type of peer pressure," said Robin Hampton, East Texas Symphony executive director.
