LONGVIEW, Texas (KLTV) - Several members of the Longview Fire Department have been deployed to the College Station area amid severe weather threats.

"As severe weather threatens our state this week, the State of Texas has requested our assistance. Longview Fire is always ready to step up and help our fellow Texans in a time of need," the department said in a release.

Five members of the Texas Task Force 1, four members through the Texas Interstate Fire Mutual Aid System and three from the Emergency Medical Task Force were deployed, according to the Longview Fire Department.
