The Heritage School six-man football team completed an undefeated district schedule and claimed the TAPPS Division III District 4 championship last week after Corpus Christi Annapolis forfeited its scheduled game because of a lack of healthy players.
"It is never a good situation when a team has to forfeit," Heritage athletic director and head football coach Tim Shipman said.
"We made the most of it by working hard as if we were preparing for the biggest game of the year." The unexpected open week gave Heritage additional time to prepare for the postseason.
