WACO, Texas (KWTX) - A twice-convicted felon who faced up to life in prison was sentenced to eight years in prison Monday on a drug possession charge.

Jason Dameion Watson, 46, pleaded guilty to possession of more than 400 grams of methamphetamine and tampering with evidence, skirting a minimum 25-year prison term in a plea bargain with the McLennan County District Attorney's Office.

Watson was indicted in November 2025 as a habitual criminal and was set for trial Monday in 19th State District Court before prosecutors reduced the plea offer for a fourth time.
