KILGORE, Texas (KLTV) - Kilgore College secured more than $1 million over five years to help students navigate paying for college.

The grant was competitive, with about 30% to 36% of applicants receiving funds, said Ebony Dennis, dean of support services at KC. The college and team members compiled data with community partners over about six weeks for the application to the Department of Education."With his particular grant, we have dedicated individuals that their sole responsibility is to help students secure those funds," she said.

Staff meet with students to review documents and help with filling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), Dennis explained.
