TYLER, Texas (KLTV) - The new Smith County Courthouse will require additional custodians, maintenance workers, and funding for supplies and repairs, county officials said Tuesday during a budget workshop.

Smith County Facilities Director Ed Nichols is requesting two additional custodians at a cost of just over $97,000, and two maintenance mechanics at a cost of nearly $138,000.

He is also requesting two vehicles, which he said could come from the county surplus rather than new purchases.
