Firefighters saved a home and prevented any structure losses as a brush fire burned approximately 95 acres in southwestern Gillespie County Friday afternoon.

Crews were called to the 800 block of Windy Ridge Road shortly after 2 p.m. Aug. 8, where a fire initially estimated at 3 to 4 acres quickly began to spread, according to Fredericksburg/Gillespie County Emergency Management.

Firefighters from Doss, Tierra Linda and Harper volunteer fire departments responded to the blaze, along with the Gillespie County Sheriff's Office.
