Texas Rangers name suspect 25 years after East Texas mother Tara Blue's disappearanceOn Nov. 2, 2001 - opening morning of deer season - a hunter in Shelby County reported what was initially thought to be a hunting mishap in a wooded area near Flat Fork Creek, just blocks from where 30-year-old Tara Lee Blue was last seen.
Mike Hanson, now chief deputy at the Shelby County Sheriff's Office, was a Texas Game Warden at the time and was first on the scene."Once I got there to the scene, it was very obvious that something terribly, terribly bad had occurred there," Hanson said.
