WICHITA FALLS, Texas (KAUZ) - On Monday, Oct. 26, News Channel 6 invited the incumbent and challenger candidates for Wichita Falls mayor to take the stage and debate live during our newscast.

Following the debate, incumbent Mayor Tim Short said he believed the event allowed residents to hear how the candidates approach issues facing the city."I think it was very positive. It was good for the citizens of Wichita Falls to have the opportunity to see how government works, to see how people think about different issues and different things and how they would be handled," Short said.

Challenger Scott Poenitzsch also said he was pleased with the opportunity to share his positions with voters."I feel really good about it. I got a chance to get my information out, reinforce some of my ideas and opinions, and I just can't wait to see what November 4th brings," Poenitzsch said.
