TYLER, Texas (KLTV) - People across the country bring awareness to breast cancer every October through Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Organizations and communities across East Texas unite to provide support, education and engagement to the millions of women whose lives have been affected by breast cancer.

According to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime and over 382,000 women will be diagnosed this year."There are some people who who don't like to go to appointments, and they just don't want to hear about any anything bad news," breast cancer survivor Sharon Amora-Grammer said.
