On Saturday, Nov. 1, Schreiner University will host its annual Da de los Muertos celebration.

The festival will take place at the Trailhead Beer Garden and will feature music, dancing and a community ofrenda, or altar to honor dead relatives and loved ones.

While Da de los Muertos has become more popular in the United States since the Chicano movement of the 1970s, there is often still confusion about what the celebration is and what it represents.
