KILLEEN, Texas (KWTX) - Killeen voters delivered sweeping changes to the city's governing document Tuesday, approving all eight proposed charter amendments on the ballot in the Nov. 3 special election, according to unofficial results and a news release from the City of Killeen.
The measures alter key provisions regarding when municipal elections are held, how council vacancies are filled, and the standards required to recall an elected official.
The amendments originated from recommendations made by the 2026 Charter Review Committee, which the Killeen City Council established in January to evaluate the governing document and recommend potential updates, the city stated.
