TYLER, Texas (KLTV) - UT Health East Texas EMS recognized 3-year-old Naomi "Emi" Vatavuk Tuesday for her lifesaving actions during a medical emergency her mother suffered earlier this year.

UT Health East Texas EMS CEO John Smith and Medical Director Dr. Yagnesh Desai presented Emi with a certificate of bravery and an EMS challenge coin during the ceremony.

Earlier this year, her mother, Aiden Wilkie, suffered a seizure, springing the 3-year-old into action."I went into a seizure and I couldn't move and I couldn't speak," Wilkie said.
