Comfort High held a brief lead over Poth in Friday's district opener for the Bobcats, but the Pirates righted the ship and sailed away with a 37-14 victory.

The Bobcats were leading 7-3 near the end of the first quarter, but Poth outscored them over the final three stanzas, 34-7, to drop Comfort to 1-4 overall and 0-1 in district.

After a Poth field goal for the 3-0 lead, Comfort answered with Cole Young touchdown reception from Omar Rivera and it was 7-3 after the extra point, but the Pirates took over from there.
