A joint meeting between the City Council and Coupland Independent School District trustees is laying the groundwork for more cooperation and consensus, officials said.

"If all goes well, this will be a great start for a united community effort," said Coupland ISD Superintendent Earl Parcell.

The two groups of elected representatives joined forces during a session Oct. 1 in the media center of the new Coupland Junior High and High School.
