A report of stolen grain in Guadalupe County turned into a state-wide investigation of a suspected organized grain-theft operation and led to the arrest of three men.

Through a months-long investigation, Guadalupe County Sheriff's Office investigators, along with several other law enforcement agencies, connected 176 stolen loads of grain - weighing about 9. 12 million pounds and valued at an estimated $791,739 across several counties - to a suspected large-scale operation, Guadalupe County Sheriff Lt. Zachary McBride said.
