McLENNAN COUNTY, Texas (KWTX) - A 67-year-old man is facing a state jail felony charge of solicitation of prostitution, according to an arrest complaint from the McLennan County Sheriff's Office.

According to the affidavit from MCSO, the investigation into Henry Bettis began Aug. 24, 2026 when a woman recently paroled from prison, identified as Victim #1, reported finding cameras inside her bedroom and bathroom at Bettis' residence.

The affidavit says Victim #1 met Bettis while incarcerated in TDCJ through "PenACon," a website that allows people to communicate with inmates through pen-pal correspondence for "friendship, conversation or relationships."According to the affidavit, they communicated for about three months about what Bettis described as a "reintegration program." Victim #1 listed Bettis as her parole sponsor to receive assistance, and was paroled May 11, 2026.
