LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) - Blue October will perform in Lubbock Friday night, celebrating 20 years since the release of their breakthrough album "Foiled."Lead singer Justin Furstenfeld said building the album's signature sound was personal, after the band's label gave him one last chance.
TICKETS: Blue October at Buddy Holly Hall"Instead of freaking out and being like 'oh my god, I have to write a hit,' I was just like... I don't care," Furstenfeld said."I was trying to make sense of depression and substance abuse and alcoholism and heartache and... and I got to really write it and produce it like I wanted to produce it, which was an essence of R&B and an essence of Michael Jackson meets REM meets Radiohead," Furstenfeld said.
The concert will take place at the Buddy Holly Hall."Foiled" went platinum in 2007, with two platinum singles, "Hate Me" and "Into the Ocean."The band will play the entire album, followed by a second set of other songs.
