Gillespie County homeowners and renters affected by the July flooding may now apply for FEMA Individual Assistance after the federal government reversed an earlier denial of aid to individuals and households.

The decision comes just days after FEMA had rejected Individual Assistance for 30 Texas counties affected by the July flooding, saying the overall impact to households and individuals did not meet the federal threshold for direct financial aid.

Texas appealed that decision through the Texas Division of Emergency Management.
