Authorities are searching for a suspect who fled into a wooded area after a federal pursuit that began in Montgomery County ended in a crash that flipped another driver's vehicle in northwest Houston Friday morning.

The Harris County Sheriff's Office said federal agents were pursuing a suspect vehicle south on Interstate 45 toward Houston at about 6:30 a.m. Around 6:40 a.m., authorities said the suspect vehicle crashed into a civilian's vehicle at Veterans Memorial Drive and Fallbrook Drive.

The collision caused the civilian's vehicle to flip, according to the sheriff's office.
