The Atascosa County Commissioners Court unanimously voted July 27, to adopt the 2024 International Fire Code (IFC) and 2024 International Building Code (IBC) alongside local amendments, immediately establishing modernized safety standards for new development across the county.

The updated codes, which were recommended by the Atascosa County Fire Marshal's Office, go into effect immediately under a final order executed by County Judge Weldon P. Cude on behalf of the court.

The local amendments included in the order were drafted by County Attorney Molly Groesbeck Solis.
