A former Gillespie County constable was indicted earlier this month on allegations that he viewed pornographic content on his work computer on 23 separate occasions, including the day of his reelection earlier this year.

Elevert Marshall Akin, who was reelected as the constable of Gillespie County's Precinct 4 in March, resigned from office in mid-May.

Akin had served as Precinct 4 constable for at least eight years, Gillespie County election records show.
