WACO, Texas (KWTX) - Waco Police Department detectives Liberty Hill man has been arrested and charged following a months-long joint investigation into dozens of drive-by shootings that damaged Waco businesses, including the building housing the local FBI field office.

Jeffrey Alan Smoger, 49, was taken into custody Wednesday at his workplace in Waco after investigators linked his vehicle to a string of shootings dating back to February, according to an arrest warrant affidavit obtained by KWTX.

Smoger is charged with nine counts of criminal mischief, a state jail felony.
